Only three boats this year for the PRSA President’s Cup/Leukemia Cup regatta this year. Penguins sailed on the same course with Lasers (3), El Toros (6), and a few other small boats (1 Opti, 1 Byte) in the cove. The wind oscillated between south and west, making setting the course a bit difficult. Initially set for a southwest breeze, the wind shifted south before the first race, making the pin end heavily favored and the weather leg >95% port tack. Race 2 was similar, after which the course was realigned to the southerly wind direction. The main drama came in race 7 when Hank Krafft took a slightly too casual approach to the run and was caught offguard by an errant puff, which caused him to flip to windward. After landing in the water, he realized he could touch bottom, although rather than get stuck in the muck, decided treading water was safer. Fortunately PRO Scott Snyder was able to rescue him with the inflatable rib committee boat.
