Miles River Annual Regatta/ American Red Cross One Design Cup

August 6-7, 2011

For years the Miles River Yacht Club has sponsored a one-design regatta in early August.  Beginning this year the American Red Cross will be the charity sponsor for the event.  We at the MYRC are extremely proud of this new association with the American Red Cross and expect the regatta to be better than ever.

As fleet coordinator, I would like to invite your fleet of Penguins to participate in the American Red Cross One Design Cup, which will take place August 6 and 7, 2011.  We anticipate 8 - 10 trailerable one-design fleets.  Registration for the event will be through CBYRA. The NOR is available in the 2011 Green Book. We will work to try to arrange private housing, if desired, for early registrants staying overnight. 

The Miles River Yacht Club is located in St. Micheals, MD, on the Miles River.  The club was founded in 1920 and moved to its present location on Long Haul Creek in 1930.  We feature a newly renovated full service club house and a pool that will be open to registrants and their families. A large grass field with a washdown facility is available for parking cars and boat trailers.  Both a ramp and a crane are available for launching and retrieval.

St. Michaels and the adjacent towns of Easton and Oxford, all over 300 years old, feature streets of historic homes and businesses, shops and restaurants – both casual and high-end.

I hope you and your fleet will attend our American Red Cross One Design Cup.  I think you will find it a lot of fun and you will help a very worthy charity at the same time!
