Registration:      0900 to 1030 hours

 

Entry Fee:          $20 will be collected by the Penguin Class officials.  And your contribution to the “After Racing Festivities” including food and/or  Trophies” are appreciated.

Rules:                  This regatta is governed by the Penguin Racing Association Racing Rules of Bill or Kim Corkran (PRAR BoKC pronounced prayer book you know, Do unto Others etc.), the Sailing Instructions, the Verbal Instructions conveyed at the Skipper’s Meeting, and the William H. Corkran Sailboat Racing Authority. 

 

Skipper’s Meeting:      Scheduled for 1100 hours

 

Races:                 5 races are planned. 1 will constitute a series.  One race (typically the 3rd) will be designated as the crew race.  Solo Skippers and those with crew who prefer not to skipper may elect to sail this race by starting at a predetermined time after the crew race starting signal, typically one minute.  All races, except the crew race, will count towards the Atlantic Coast Championship.

Courses: Will be determined by the Race Committee on the morning of the regatta depending on direction and velocity of the wind. Gusts of wind from the participants concerning course selection will be given appropriate interest by the RC.

 

Starts:                 A Three (3) Minute starting Sequence will be used (Probably the Ollie). The starting line will be determined by the Race Committee prior to and announced at the Skipper’s  Meeting..

 

Protests:             Must be filed at the Choptank River Light, Midnight New Year’s Eve      2012! Protest hearing will be held at the Oxford in and the bill will be paid by the losing skipper.

 

Trophies:               Provided by WHC Sailboat Racing Authority and Contributions from the Penguin Class.

From the “Day’s Inn” on the South Side of Easton:

 

Drive South on Route 50 approximately 3.6 Miles to Mile Marker #71

 

Turn Right on “Sanderstown Road

 

Stop at 1st “STOP” sign, after looking both ways, Proceed Straight Across for 2.4 miles

 

(Straight at 2nd “STOP” sign and bear Right at 3rdStop”sign merging onto “Island Creek Road”)

 

Bear Right AGAIN staying on Island Creek Road (west) for approximately .7 miles

 

Bear (follow SHARP curve) Left onto “Chloras Point Road” for 1.7 miles

 

Turn Right on “Clora Dorsey Road” almost to the house directly ahead (approx. 1 mile)

 

Before entering driveway to the house straight ahead, turn Right to 4050 Clora Dorsey Road and Mi Desea
